Free PS4 and PS5 games we may get before February 2021

Next month is upon us, and next week Sony will announce that February’s subscribers will be able to download and enjoy PlayStation Plus games for free on PS4 and PS5. To kick off the new year, Sony has put together a great lineup with two PS4 games and a PS5 game, and many PlayStation Plus subscribers hope the momentum will be maintained with an equally great lineup. We already know that will be one of three games Destruction All the stars, a brand new PS5 game from Sony coming out next month, but right now that’s all we know.

With Microsoft stumbling upon itself this week with Xbox Live, this is the perfect opportunity for Sony to make a statement with an absolute monster month. Unfortunately, when Sony presents itself with golden opportunities, these are rarely needed. Furthermore, this month’s lineup was definitely chosen ahead of this week’s Xbox Live debacle.

That said, below you can check out our predictions for the two PS4 games we think PlayStation Plus will offer next month. In addition to our reasoning behind the choice, there is also a trailer for each game and an official description so you can read more about each game as well. As always, it’s important to keep in mind that these are just predictions based on observation, industry knowledge, and the history of the service. In other words, there is no inside information, rumors, or leaks involved here. However, despite the odds, the first three were enough for accurate past predictions.

Horizon Zero Dawn + expansion

Reason: Next month, Horizon Zero Dawn celebrates its four-year anniversary. Meanwhile, later this year, the sequel is Horzion Forbidden West, will be released on the PS4 and PS5. It’s the perfect time not to just make Horizon Zero Dawn free, but its extension, The Frozen Wilds, free. Not only is the game and its expansion several years old, but it has also been published by Sony. This means that not only has Sony squeezed out most of the profit, but it doesn’t cost Sony a dime to add. The icing on the cake? It’s a big and popular game that will keep subscribers happy, which is ultimately the goal here.

About: In an age when Machines roam the land and humanity is no longer the dominant species, a young hunter named Aloy embarks on a journey to discover her fate. In a lush, post-apocalyptic world where nature is the ruins of a “Has recaptured forgotten civilization., a portion of humanity lives on in primitive hunter-gatherer tribes. Their dominion over the new wilderness has been usurped by the Machines – terrifying mechanical beings of unknown origin.”

Little nightmares

Reason: Next month, Little nightmares 2 will be released, and right now it’s one of the most notable releases of the month. If ever there was a time to present its predecessor, Little nightmares, next month would be the time to do it. Not only is there significant anticipation for the sequel in the hardcore space, but the former is widely regarded as one of the better games of 2017. We’ve seen the service do this in the past; offer a game’s predecessor right before it’s released, and it would make sense if it repeated this tactic again next month with Little nightmares. Not only is it a smaller game that won’t break the bank, but Bandai Namco would presumably be more than willing to strike a deal for a massive boost in marketing for the sequel.

About: “Immerse yourself Little nightmares, a dark, whimsical story that confronts you with childhood fears! Help Six escape The Maw – a huge, mysterious vessel inhabited by wicked souls looking for their next meal. “
