Justice Minister Domingo Emanuelli Hernández and Caguas’ District Attorney Aracelys Pérez reported that Judge María Rojas Delgado of the Caguas Court of First Instance had established the likely reason for the arrest of William David Marcano Hernández, 47, for the triple murder of three 19 year olds in Caguas.
He was also charged with attempted murder and violation of the gun law.
Judge Rojas Delgado closed a $ 2,750,000 global bond against Marcano Hernández, who was listed by Puerto Rico police as the most wanted person in Caguas jurisdiction for a double murder he committed in 2018.
The investigation was led by prosecutor Ana María Martínez Orama in collaboration with Agent Lizandra Aponte Rodríguez from the Homicide Division of the Caguas CIC of the Puerto Rico Police Station.
The events took place on January 19 at night in the old water park Moisty Skate and Family Park.
As was known, the young people were in the deserted park when the suspect surprised them and shot them with a firearm, killing three of them, while two others managed to escape and were unharmed during the incident.
Marcano Hernández was charged with three charges of violation of Article 93 murder; two charges of article 93 murder in the form of attempt; one charge for violation of article 6.05 carrying, transporting or using firearms without a license; and five charges for 6.14 shooting or aiming at firearms.
Marcano Hernández was jailed for not paying bail.
The preliminary hearing was scheduled for February 8, 2021.
