The airport authorities are working on the latest logistical preparations to be applied at national airports in response to the demands of several countries demanding a negative result of Covid-19 for the entry of their citizens or foreign visitors.

For such purposes, Víctor Pichardo, Director of the Airport Department (DA), held meetings with the Ministry of Health, the Specialized Corps of Airport Security and Civil Aviation (CESAC) and representatives of the country’s airports to discuss the details of the end. of logistics to be applied in air terminals.

“It is about the launch of this initiative, designed by the cabinet for tourism, mainly to respond to countries that need various COVID-19 tests to enter their territory, such as PCR and antigen,” Pichardo said at a meeting at the headquarters of Health. , led by Minister Plutarco Arias.

It is reiterated that tourists will be able to access COVID-19 testing through hotels, covered by the insurance travel assistance plan, other passengers must go to the airport with their results made 72 hours in advance and present them to the airline in time to check out to check.

Likewise, all passengers are encouraged to research beforehand the type of testing required by the destination country, whether it is PCR or antigen.

Pichardo pointed out that the meeting strengthens the processes that management is implementing from the start at the different airports of the Dominican Republic, for which he thanked the Ministry of Health, CESAC and the airport representatives for their collaboration and integration to ensure the industry functions optimally. .
