Kevin Durant was retired for the Brooklyn Nets game in Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday

Kevin Durant was excluded from Brooklyn Nets’ game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday-evening due to rehabilitation from his Achilles tendon injury.

Durant played more than 50 minutes in the Nets’ two extra-time against the Cavaliers on Wednesday. Durant scored 38 points, with 12 rebounds and 8 assists in the backhand.

Friday is also the first night of a back-to-back, as the Nets play against Miami Heat on Saturday night.

Durant played once in both back-to-back games this season, on January 12 against the Denver Nuggets and on January 13 against the New York Knicks. Durant said one of his goals was to be able to play back-to-back after the Achilles tendon injury that kept him out of the game all season.

Durant tore his right Achilles tendon during the NBA Finals in June 2018. Durant has scored an average of 31.3 points, 7.5 rebounds and 6 assists per game this season.
