A memorial to the late Harry Brant – the son of supermodel Stephanie Seymour and billionaire Peter Brant – was held Thursday.
Because of COVID-19’s security measures, only family members could attend the service, but Brant’s family has asked those who knew him to light a candle in his honor at 7 p.m.
Harry died of an accidental drug overdose on Sunday at the age of 24.
“Today we rest and honor the life of my brother, a true angel of light, an extraordinarily unique soul like no one who has come before,” his brother Peter wrote on Instagram.
He continued: “ It is impossible to express the devastation I feel for the loss of someone with whom I not only shared a life full of wonderful memories, but also with someone who cared so much about my own happiness, was so committed to my personal comfort. It is not only the loss of a brother, but also the loss of a best friend, my other half. My heart beats at the thought of never seeing that sweet face again. “
The brothers were often seen together at New York City’s hottest parties and front row at top international fashion shows. Harry was known for his sense of gender change and the brothers created a unisex makeup line for MAC Cosmetics.
“He’s accomplished a lot in his 24 years, but we’ll never get the chance to see how much more Harry could have done,” his family said in a statement.
“Our hearts are shattered. Harry wanted to get rid of his addiction and was only days away from rehab. We will be forever sad that Harry’s life was cut short by this devastating disease. We ask that you allow our family privacy as we try to cope with the loss of our beautiful, beautiful boy, ”the statement said.
There has been a flood of sympathy from top fashion designers mourning the loss.
