Abinader is absent from the CNM for a lunch with ambassadors to discuss Haitian issues

The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, will be absent from the session of the National Council of the Magistracy (CNM) at noon today at the National Palace.

The President will use the recess of the applicants’ interviews to fill the vacancies of the Constitutional Court and move to the Chancellery’s headquarters where he will have lunch with several ambassadors and the Secretary of State, Roberto Álvarez, with whom he will discuss the Haitian issue and the recent joint statement with President Jovenel Moïse.

The third and final session of the CNM will be led by the Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña.

This is the second time in the entire interview process that President Abinader will be absent from the process. The first time took place last Thursday, when he also left at noon to open a business project in the Eastern region.
