Juanchy Sanchez, 63, a shareholder of the baseball team Águilas Cibaeñas, died in the city of Santiago this afternoon.
Juanchy had been in Homs hospital in Santiago for several weeks in a tough battle against Covid-19.
His death was reported by his brother Carlos and confirmed by the President of the Águilas Cibaeñas, Quilvio Hernández.
Juanchy has been the majority shareholder of Las Águilas for more than 10 years and has been the supporter of the team of his company Comercializadora Deportiva.
At the end of last year, he had a spectacular accident in a collision of bits in the waters of Montecristi. He was intervened in various operations on different parts of the body.
