Egyptian woman arrested for baking pornographic pastries

She was accused of distributing food porn.

An Egyptian woman was briefly detained for allegedly baking sexually suggestive cakes eaten at a birthday party in Cairo.

Before she was arrested, photos of the spicy pastries – including cupcakes topped with genitalia and lingerie-shaped frosting – went viral online.

According to the Guardian, top Muslim body Dar al-Ifta viewed the daring treats as an insult to Islam.

“Posting nude photos, candy, holograms and products featuring sexual expressions and fallen disclosures is legitimately prohibited and punishable by law,” they wrote on Facebook.

The baker, who has since been released on $ 319 bail, has denied cooking the outrageously dressed desserts.

Authorities are also investigating several women who attended the b-day bash, as well as the high-end sports club that threw the lusty soiree.

Human rights lawyer Negad El Borai flocked to the moldy pastry chef’s defense, tweeting that the state wanted to “eliminate any space for personal freedom in Egypt on the pretext of protecting Egyptian family values.”

This is not the first time that Islamic authorities have recently arrested a woman for ‘indecent’ creations. Iranian Instagram star Sahar Tabar was recently sentenced to ten years in prison after taking selfies, so she looked like a ‘Zombie Angelina Jolie’.
