SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – San Diego County officials announced Monday that COVID-19 vaccines will now be available for people 75 and older.
Citing “a delay in the number of appointments at COVID-19 vaccination centers,” the province confirmed that a change had been made to the eligibility requirement.
Dr. Wilma Wooten, county public health officer, said, “We took this action today to add people 75 and older because they are most at risk. It remains our intention to expand vaccines to people over 65 by the week of January 25, depending on vaccine availability. “
The expanded requirements will be in effect at the vaccine “superstation” in downtown San Diego and other provincial locations where coronavirus vaccines are administered.
Health professionals (Phase 1A / All Tiers) and San Diegans 75 and older (Phase 1B, Tier 1) can make arrangements to receive vaccines and are the only groups who can visit a vaccination site.
