Clinica Sierra Vista is pausing COVID vaccinations in Fresno out of great caution

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) – Clinica Sierra Vista announced it is discontinuing all COVID vaccinations, including at its Fresno site, after as many as 10 people in California experienced allergic reactions to a certain lot of the Moderna vaccine.

Health officials in California have called for a temporary halt to distribution of that particular lot, lot # 041L20A. The clinic said it received 1,100 doses from that batch, but anyone who received a vaccination from Clinica Sierra today did not receive a dose of the shipment in question.

In fact, the vaccines from the shipment in question were not sent to the Fresno site on Elm at all. According to Clinica Sierra Vista, the vaccinations are simply interrupted there out of an abundance of caution.

The clinic, which had scheduled vaccinations for people 65 or older in Fresno and Kern counties from Monday, Jan. 18, announced a few hours in the afternoon that it would not be administering the doses until further notice.
