Liga MX: Arturo Brizio clarifies controversy over penalty in América vs Rayados

After the controversy that arose because of the criminal of Ramon Juarez during the duel between Rayados del Monterrey and the Eagles of America, Arturo Brizio, chairman of the Arbitration Board, analyzed the piece and gave his point of view.

During his weekly arbitrage analysis, published via the FMF, Brizio noted that the marking of Jorge Antonio Pérez Duran, referee of the match, was wrong, as the impact on the azuclcrema defender’s hand comes from a rebound in the chest.

“In this action there is a hand of the América player and the referee penalizes a penalty. The ball hits the defender’s chest first and then the hand, so it should not be considered a violation. “

“The VAR should have proposed the revision and the referee had to correct the original decision. It is an incorrect referee decision”

Brizio explained that it was the responsibility of the VAR to call Pérez Durán to watch the game on the screens and correct his decision, which ultimately hurt América, as this penalty marked the Rayados’ winning goal.
