A man living at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport says he was too scared to fly because of the COVID-19 pandemic

CHICAGO – A man reportedly lived at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago for three months before he was caught Saturday.

Prosecutors said Aditya Singh, 36, was too scared to fly back to Los Angeles because of COVID-19.

Cook County prosecutors said Singh was found with the misplaced credentials of an airport worker and survived in a secure area of the airport.

According to prosecutors, Singh arrived at O’Hare’s Terminal 2 on a flight from Los Angeles on Oct. 19.

He is said to have lived in the security zone of the airport ever since.

On Saturday, two United Airlines employees confronted Singh and asked for his work ID, which was reported stolen by an airport operations manager.

Singh was taken into custody and told authorities he had found the credentials and was afraid of flying home during the pandemic.

He has been charged with felony criminal trespass in a restricted area of an airport and theft.

The judge was shocked that Singh had not been discovered earlier.

“While this incident is still under investigation, we have determined that this gentleman did not pose a security risk to the airport or the traveling public,” the Chicago Department of Aviation said in a statement Monday morning. “We will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to conduct a thorough investigation into this matter.”

Singh’s lawyer requested that Singh fly home.

The judge denied that and set bail at $ 10,000.
