Boca Juniors champion of the Diego Maradona Cup of Argentinian football by beating Banfield after penalties 5-3, after 1-1 equalizing in the final, played on Sunday evening in the San Juan del Bicentenario stadium (province of San Juan, west).

The Colombian Edwin Cardona (63) scored Boca’s goal and when it looked like the title was in the hands of the ‘xeneize’ team, Luciano Lollo (90 + 5) scored the tie for Banfield.
Boca closed the game with nine players due to the expulsion of lateral Emanuel Mas (86) and the departure due to injury of Diego Gonzalez (90) when no more changes were available.
The performance is a consolation for Boca after being eliminated by Santos in the Copa Libertadores semifinals, which was the great goal of the season.

The Maradona Cup has marked Boca the 70th title in its history since 1905, as well as the 48th trophy at the local level, with 34 leagues and 14 national cups.
