At the moment, Sony is only selling the PlayStation 5 and its accompanying DualSense controller in one color scheme: black and white. However, if you’d like to inject a pop of color into your own game life, now there’s a new way to do that without breaking the bank.
Third-party company Decor Evolve has now made a handful of new controller covers available for the PS5’s DualSense. The covers come in ten different colors, including gold, silver, orange, red, and various shades of blue to name a few. As for how these covers work, they simply snap on the front part of the DualSense and add color to the bottom black part of the controller.
Perhaps the best thing about these DualSense covers is that they are also quite cheap. Decor Evolve only sells each cover for $ 9.99 a pop, which is a pretty reasonable price overall. In addition, if you decide to buy a total of four covers, you will get a 20% discount on your total order. Conversely, you can get a 10% discount if you buy two covers.
While these covers do nothing more than add color to the DualSense controller, they are a nice middle ground for now. In the future, Sony will certainly release other different DualSense models that will be decked out in different color schemes, but until that day comes, these faceplates are about the best you can do.
The more interesting thread that follows concerns Sony. So far, the PlayStation manufacturer has shown that it is not a fan of outside companies trying to sell products related to the PS5. That said, it’s hard to see them take action against Decor Evolve. Since the company doesn’t sell anything other than plastic skins, it’s unlikely Sony can do anything to stop the sale.
