Lafayette police respond to Acadiana Mall after reports of gunfire fired.
According to LPD spokesperson Cpl. Bridgette Dugas, agents responded to reports of a fight in the food court in the Acadiana Mall on Ambassador Caffery.
During the incident, a weapon was fired and one shot was fired, police said. No injuries have been reported at this time.
Lafayette police insist that this was an isolated incident, and they are working to locate the individuals involved.
The shopping center is closed for the rest of the evening.
Witnesses tell KATC that they heard shots and then saw people running. People were held in the back of stores by store employees.
