An armed man with false identification is arrested at one of the checkpoints in Washington DC

Congressional Police has arrested a man who showed up at one of the checkpoints in the federal capital yesterday, Friday, with false identification, guarded by thousands of soldiers and police officers before Joseph Biden was inaugurated as president next Wednesday.

According to The New York Times newspaper, the person had an unregistered gun in his truck, as well as 500 bullets.

According to the paper, the man arrested is a contractor named Wesley A. Beeler who lives in Front Royal, Virginia. He drove his truck to security, which the Times says is a mile from the convention grounds.

Officer Roger Dupont said he checked the ID on a list and found that the man’s ID did not allow him to enter the restricted area.Cites the publication.

The gun found in his vehicle was a Glock.

Beeler, the publication continues, has been charged with five cases, including possession of weapons in the federal capital without permission. The intentions of the subject are still unknown.

Washington, DC has strong police custody after a mob of Donald Trump supporters – who, like him, falsely claim that the election was stolen – violently attacked the US Congress to prevent lawmakers from winning the Democrat. More than 20,000 soldiers will also support to protect the ceremony.
