Chicharito sends a moving message to Wayne Rooney on the day the Englishman announced his retirement from court
Mexican forward Javier Hernández dedicated an emotional message to former teammate Wayne Rooney, who today announced his retirement from a professional player to become a full-time Derby County manager.
Through his official Instagram account, Chicharito, who shared a dressing room with Rooney at Manchester United between 2010 and 2014, shared a story with two photos next to the Englishman and words of thanks for helping him during his time at Old Trafford.
“You are a great source of inspiration and a true football legend. Thank you for all you have done for me and my career, all the best in your new facetwrote the Aztec.
Rooney and Hernández have developed a great friendship since the Mexican was bought by Manchester in 2010 and during Wayne’s time in MLS with DC United, the Englishman showed his affection for the Mexican forward.
“Chicha is a fantastic player, a great person and if he came to the MLS I would of course want him on my team,” said Rooney. ESPN in 2019.
Javier Hernández did make it to MLS, but did so until early last year when he was signed by the LA Galaxy and the forward is currently preparing for his second season in the United States.
