The earthquake occurred off the coast of San Vicente minutes after another 5.9-degree earthquake off the coast of Guatemala.

An earthquake of 4.9 degrees was registered in El Salvador on Friday. According to data from the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (Marn), this happened at 11:09 am

El Marn pointed out that the epicenter is off the coast of San Vicente, 26 miles south of the mouth of the Lempa River.

Users on social networks point out that it was felt in different departments of the country, including Sonsonate, San Miguel, Usulután, San Salvador and Cuscatlán.

The quake occurred minutes after another quake was recorded off the coast of Guatemala, which had a magnitude of 5.9 degrees and occurred at 10:10 a.m., the United States Geological Survey added.

The epicenter was 47 kilometers southwest of the municipality of Champeric and 162 kilometers from Guatemala City, with a depth of 58 kilometers.
