Little Nightmares can be kept free this week

The spooky sequel Little Nightmares 2 is just around the corner, waiting to scare you in February. If you haven’t played its predecessor puzzle platformer yet, don’t worry, you can stick it for free until Sunday so you have plenty of time to sneak through for the sequel. Bandai Namco has also spooked a terrifying new trailer for the occasion.

Bandai Namco says the free download for the original Little Nightmares is available from the Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe store, which I can’t find my way around, so I’m afraid you’ll be on your own from there. There is also a popup on Bandai Namco’s main site where you can put your email address in “for your chance to claim a free copy” via Steam key, although it’s not super clear if that’s a lottery is or the same freebie offer they mentioned. I’ve asked them for clarification on that and will update when they spell it out for me. In either case, BandaiNam says the offer will run from now until Sunday, January 17.

RPS’s Little Nightmares review praises just about everything about it, from puzzles to visual style to the pace of the horror world leaning more on unease than fright. Alice Bee agrees that this is one of her favorite horror games and also had a lot of good things to say about her time with the Little Nightmares 2 preview.

“LN2 has all the things I liked from the first game: Lilliputian-like crawling under giant tables and planks, jumps that feel dangerous because of how small you are, and the excellent sound design of your little clapping feet and unseen things knocking over clutter in it. dark, “says Alice.” The puzzles are still trying to find the right switches to put them in the right places, and while Six helps you jump to certain rooms, I spend most of my time alone when Running around mono. “

Starting today there is also a demo for Little Nightmares 2 on PS4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch. A demo has been available on PC for a while now, but if you haven’t heard it, you can try it out on Steam and GOG. That’s also where you’ll find the full game when it launches on February 10th for £ 25 / € 30 / $ 30.
