The sheriff’s son in Central Texas charged with domestic violence, marijuana possession

GATESVILLE, Texas (KWTX) – The son of Coryell County Sheriff Scott Williams was released on Wednesday after being arrested and charged with domestic violence and marijuana possession.

Samuel Williams, 27, was arrested around 8:30 p.m. on Monday after officers were sent to a home in Gatesville in response to a call for domestic violence, Gatesville police chief Nathan Gholke said Wednesday.

Coryell County Justice of the Peace Coy Latham upheld one charge of assault causing physical injury / domestic violence, a Class A felony and one count of marijuana possession of less than 60 grams, a Class B felony.

Williams was booked into Coryell County Jail Monday night and released after posting a bail on Tuesday, the data showed.

Scott Williams said he has spoken to prosecutors to ensure that his son is not treated differently from any other defendant.
