Registration of the COVID-19 vaccine suspended for a month in Genesee County

FLINT, Mich. (WJRT) – Online applications to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in Genesee County won’t start for almost another month.

The Genesee County Health Department says online registration for COVID-19 vaccine appointments will be Feb. 7 at the earliest. The county is still waiting for additional vaccines so they can enter Phase 1B, which includes anyone 65 or older and critical professions such as first responders and teachers.

Appointments will be available on the health department planning website once Genesee County receives more vaccine doses.

State health officials are recommending people interested in getting the vaccine monitor to visit the Michigan COVID-19 vaccine website rather than calling their local health department for updates on when it will be available.
