Federal agents have arrested the rioter wearing a horned headgear and holding a spear during Wednesday’s raid on the Capitol.
33-year-old Jacob Anthony Chansley, aka Jake Angeli, was arrested on Saturday.
The shirtless Chansley – who apparently took stylistic cues from the moose hut and ‘Conan the Barbarian’ – ‘was identified as the man who entered the Capitol in media coverage, dressed in horns, a bearskin headdress, red, white and blue face paint, shirtless and brown pants, ‘Justice Department officials said in a statement.
“This person was carrying a spear about six feet long, with an American flag just below the blade,” added the FBI.
Chansley – who can be seen in footage of Wednesday’s chaos pumping his biceps onto the stage in the Senate Chamber – was charged with knowingly entering or remaining in a confined building or property without legal authority, and of violent entry and disorderly conduct. Capitol grounds.
“The fact that we had a bunch of our traitors in the office, squatted down, put on their gas masks and retreated to their underground bunker, I consider that a victory,” Chansley, identified as Angeli, told NBC News after the rel.
Known as the “QAnon Shaman” or “Q Shaman,” Chansley is a diehard Trump supporter who has attended past far-right events and is known for his support of MSN’s baseless QAnon conspiracy theory.
The Justice Department also confirmed the arrest of Adam Christian Johnson on Friday, who was featured in a viral photo that carried the lectern of speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Johnson, 36, of Parrish, Florida, was charged with one count of knowingly entering or remaining in a confined building or property without legal authority; one count of theft of government property; and a count of violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.
On Friday, Derrick Evans, 35, of West Virginia, a freshman member of the West Virginia House of Delegates, was also arrested. Evans poured himself into the Capitol with the crowd on his Facebook page, yelling as he crossed the threshold, “We’re in, we’re in! Derrick Evans is in the Capitol! “
The Office of the U.S. District Attorney for the District of Columbia is pursuing the case. Investigations by the Washington Field Office of the FBI, the ATF and the Capitol Police continue.
