Google Meet has evolved rapidly over the past year to meet the millions of people who have transitioned to (and in many cases still) work from home. The service recently implemented many new features and now Google is making it easier than ever to place a call.

Previously, creating a Google Meet conference required creating a nickname (or allowing Google to generate one for you) and then getting a link to share with others. Google is now speeding up this process with a modified interface at meet.google.com. Clicking the “New Meeting” button now gives you three options: create a meeting for later, start a call now, or schedule a meeting in Google Calendar.

Depending on how you use Google Meet most often, the updated interface can save you at least a few clicks. The changes are now reflected for both G Suite / Google Workspace accounts and personal Gmail accounts.
