Silvia Navarro concludes an almost three-year absence from television in January and returns from the United States in the most revealing role of her life. As she admitted in an interview with Efe from Telemundo Studios headquarters, the Mexican actress in “La fortuna de Loli” learns the essence of her emotional DNA.
“Changes are easy for me and this has changed everything,” said Navarro. Still, the 42-year-old artist decided to leave Mexico and return to a romantic comedy, but now in a cross between telenovela and series.
“It’s a story about romantic love and also between parents and children, for what is done and, in a very prominent way, the love between friends,” he said.
“I live that with my friends. It’s true. I am Loli ”, he assures them.
To illustrate this, Navarro opened the door to his privacy much wider than usual. “I had a complicated family life like many people. It’s my friends who taught me what unconditional love is, ”she said.
“Silvia is a deeply rooted actress and in this role, although it is comedy, I feel it even more. She doesn’t think about where the character should go or what to convey. She lives it. He reveals who he really is, ”his co-star Osvaldo Benavides told Efe.
Production opens January 26 in the United States on the Telemundo network.
In addition to Benavides, Navarro shares credits with Gaby Espino, Jacqueline Bracamontes and Christian Chávez, among others.
Set in Los Angeles, the romantic comedy begins with the relationship of Loli, a single director whose life changes when her best friend dies and she has to take care of her children.
“I just got off doing ‘The Candidate’ (a political thriller) and ‘Falling into temptation’, which was very gruesome, and I asked God to send me a comedy. I had some offers before, but I preferred to wait and Loli arrived, ”he recalls.
Because it is a comedy “that caresses (hugs) the heart and because of the intensity that comes from working in an environment where we all have to take care of ourselves (because of the covid-19 pandemic),” Navarro describes the setting of the shooting as “very enriching”.
That doesn’t mean it was easy. The first challenge was making the decision to move to the United States with a young child to carry out the project. “It was very difficult,” said Navarro.
What’s not new is that Navarro is committed to its mission “to keep people entertained”. When his 5-year-old son León asked him the reasons for such a radical change, “I told him my job is to make the public happy.” He added that it is what he wishes for his child, “that he has a job he can give.”
“And it’s what defines my professional life and more right now. I hope people who see us feel an oasis of peace and pleasure, at least for a short while. “
