Shortly after launching its schedule link Friday morning, Baptist Health South Florida filled more than 13,000 vaccine appointments in about two hours.
“All of our COVID-19 vaccination appointment schedules are taken and we are not making new appointments at this time,” Baptist Health said in a statement. “Additional vaccination sites will soon be available in our catchment area and more appointment times will become available as we receive additional vaccines. Vaccinations are by appointment only and walk-ups are not accepted.”

Beginning Friday, Jan. 8, people 65 and older or those at high risk of serious illness from the virus can book appointments at baptisthealth.net for slots starting Monday, Jan. 11.
Baptist Health offers 12,000 appointment schedules to get started and expects to add availability and locations.
