Dying Light 2 writer is leaving Techland after 22 years of service

Dying light 2 may still be in active development, according to Techland, but the positive news stories surrounding the project have not exactly had a free fall since the indefinite slowdown early last year. Another perk to the growing stack is that writer Pawel Selinger has now left the developer after 22 years, getting a writing position for both the original Dying Light and the upcoming sequel. His past work also includes credits on Dead Island and three Call of Juarez entries, according to IMDB.

On his LinkedIn page, Selinger said, “After more than twenty-two years, I have decided to end my partnership with Techland. I want to express my gratitude to the company that has allowed me to develop and fulfill myself half of my life. Techland, I will always keep rooting for you, as well as the wonderful people I have met, thanks to you. I wish you that Dying light 2 and its subsequent projects will be world hits. See you and good luck! “

The question now becomes whether the writer’s departure can be used as a reflection of Techland’s current situation around Dying Light 2. Not a single bit of substantial information has been shared since the game’s delay, but rumors have circulated during that time about serious developmental problems. The developer very quickly denied those reports. A ray of hope for fans can be gleaned from the team’s New Year’s message shared on Twitter, where followers were told to “be ready for 2021”. Let’s hope Dying Light 2 makes it through next year – it has the potential to become something really, really cool.
