GameStop releases PlayStation 5 in batches, users struggle to order

GameStop is releasing the PlayStation 5 in batches, at least at the time of writing. The retailer is currently trending on Twitter, and that’s because it recently released a new PS5 stock. However, unlike some previous PS5 restocks, GameStop has released this last bit of stock in batches. That said, while GameStop tweaked its distribution for this latest bit of inventory, this wasn’t enough to change the experience for many customers, who again ran into website issues, bots running out of inventory, and everything else that goes into ordering the PS5 .

As always, the whole process was a mess, and many PlayStation gamers were also disappointed to see that stock was limited to bundles. In other words, the supplement did not include an option to buy the console and only the console. Full inventory was limited to various bundles, including games and PlayStation Plus subscriptions.

It’s important to note that by the time you read this, the replenishment will almost certainly have been used up, and that’s because, despite being bundles, the batches expire in literal minutes.

At the time of publication, there is no announcement of future restocking. What is now is a lot of frustrated customers.
