A gang of thieves who escaped after a £ 320,000 wine robbery ended up throwing some of the expensive bottles at police during a chase in France.
The thieves began throwing the expensive bottles of wine at French gendarmes as they drove on the highway at around 5.15 a.m. on Tuesday, the Guardian reports.
They focused on the luxury Relais Château hotel Domaine de Rymska, which is located 30 km from Beaune in Burgundy.
The doors of the hotel’s wine cellar had been smashed by the thieves who then ran off with hundreds of bottles of wine.

The owner of the hotel was awakened after the fire alarm went off before getting into his car and chasing the gang’s van.
He kept calling for help as he chased them onto the Autoroute du Soleil motorway, which heads south to Lyon.
A police officer joined the hotel owner in the chase, but as they approached the van, the thieves began throwing bottles of stolen wine at their pursuers.
The thieves left their van 22 miles north of Lyon after hitting a toll barrier.

Police have said no one was injured and the bottles thrown at the gendarmes’ vehicle were missed.
An investigation has been launched and police have said they are looking for at least three men.
Investigators are also working to determine whether this incident is related to a second burglary at the hotel that took place just 24 hours earlier.
In the earlier break-in, £ 180,000 worth of fine wine was stolen from the same cellar that was broken into in the latest incident.
