Cuban comedian Andy Vázquez is in poor health after being infected with Covid-19, host and comedian José Carlucho said during his show on Univista TV.
“I can’t have an interview at the moment via Skype, or via Zoom, or by phone because of the health condition that Andy Vázquez has at the moment, who is not experiencing normal Covid-19 because it hit him very hard,” said Carlucho, who brought the news out.
“The only thing that drove me to do this audience is the love and feeling of all his colleagues,” the presenter revealed, visibly moved, after showing images of Vázquez in the hospital.
“If we have ever asked to help someone make a fundraiser (….) Today I just want to ask everyone for a prayer for Andy Vázquez’s recovery, which is very necessary, he loves himself very much. Univista TV, ”he added.
The presenter said he couldn’t make Vázquez watch The Carlucho Show nowadays, but he confirmed that he will receive all medical care because they have made all necessary arrangements.
“It has hit him very hard and he is going through very difficult times. All I ask of you is that we pray for this Cuban who came into exile like us and to give away all his talent,” concluded Carlucho.
Vázquez was suspended from the popular Cuban television program at the end of 2019 Live the story for using his character, Facundo Correcto, to parody the opening of the Cuatro Caminos market, which turned out to be chaotic after several months of propaganda in the official media.

As a result of the sanction, the comedian decided to stay and live in the city of Miami, where he found work in the Carlucho’s show, and claimed to be “The relationship with Cuba, like that of all Cubans scattered around the world, will be eternal,” but said he will not return to the island “as long as that government exists.”
