According to NBC News, longtime broadcaster Larry King was removed from an ICU in Los Angeles on Monday for continuing to receive hospital care for COVID-19.
A source close to King’s family told the news center that King was in a hospital in LA for about 10 days and added that King believes he contracted the disease from a health worker who visited his home. One of his adult children also tested positive for the disease.
King, 87, suffered a stroke and heart attack last year and lost two children to medical problems the same year. The news first broke on Saturday about his hospitalization for the virus.
“Larry has fought against so many health problems over the years and he’s fighting hard, he’s a champion,” a family member told ABC News at the time.
King is a prolific broadcaster that has hosted Larry King Live on CNN for 25 years, and currently hosts the talk show series Larry King Now on Ora TV, RT America and Hulu.
