12 Unforgettable Stats From Packers’ Historic 2020 Season

The Green Bay Packers have just completed one of the most impressive regular seasons in the franchise’s long history.

The Packers scored touchdowns on 48 of the 60 trips to the red zone, or what the team calls the ‘golden zone’. The offense had an 80 percent conversion rate within the 20-yard line, five percentage points better than the second-best team in the NFL (Tennessee Titans, 75.0 percent). According to the team, the Packers’ touchdown percentage in the red zone was the highest in the NFL for the past 40 seasons.

4 All touchdowns

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers set new team records with 48 touchdown passes and 51 touchdowns in total. His 48 touchdown passes held Dan Marino for fifth place of all time. Rodgers never threw more than four touchdown passes in one game, but he had four touchdown passes in seven different games, the third most in NFL history.

5 Consistent excellence

According to the team, Aaron Rodgers set new NFL records for games with a passer-by rating of at least 100.0 (14), games with at least three touchdown passes and a passer-by rating of at least 100.0 (12), and games with at least three touchdown passes and zero interceptions (10). The great thing about Rodgers’ season was the consistency of playing at the elite level.

6 30 or more

The Packers scored 30 or more points in 12 different games. Matt LaFleur’s team actually had as many games with 40 or more points (four) as games with less than 30 (four). Only once were the Packers kept below 20 points.

Eleven different players received touchdown passes from Aaron Rodgers in 2020: Davante Adams (18), Robert Tonyan (11), Marquez Valdes-Scantling (6), Allen Lazard (3), Marcedes Lewis (3), Aaron Jones (2), Jamaal Williams (1), Equanimeous St. Brown (1), Malik Taylor (1), Jace Sternberger (1) and Dominique Dafney (1).

8 Leader Completion Percentage

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers finished as the NFL’s leader in completion rate. He completed 70.7 percent of his passes, just ahead of Drew Brees (70.5) and Deshaun Watson (70.2). Rodgers completed just 62.0 percent of his passes in 2019, and his previous career was 68.3. He finished 10 games with a completion percentage of 70.0 or higher.

9 Tonyan touchdowns

Robert Tonyan caught just 10 passes in the 2019 season. He caught 11 touchdown passes in 2020, taking most of the NFL’s tight ends and tying the team record.

10 Deep threat

Marquez Valdes-Scantling had a few early drops, but he also led all qualified NFL players in yards per catch at 20.9. His 33 catches gained 620 meters. He tied for the NFL high with six catches of 40 or more yards, and his six touchdowns averaged 43.7 yards per catch.

11 One and two

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers now has the two best passer ratings in one season in NFL history. He finished at 121.5 in 2020, just one point below his NFL record of 122.5 in 2011.

A first-time Pro Bowler, cornerback Jaire Alexander allowed only 4.8 yards per attempt to throw in his cover, per Pro Football Focus. He gave up only two touchdown passes, hitting 13 other passes and only one penalty.
