The coach acknowledged that “there was luck” because “to beat Liverpool you have to”. Also that “the mentality was the key, a perfect evening. We were hit by injuries, we had to go up a few juniors today and seeing how my team was competing made me excited ”.
Liverpool have had only two defeats in the Premier League so far and are now within reach of Manchester United, which has one game less than the Reds.
Jurgen Klopp, for his part, accepted that he had no excuses, although he claimed the referee’s achievement.
“It’s not an excuse for performance, but you can get a point if they give you just enough. Now we have to show a reaction in the coming days,” the Reds coach said after the loss.
