Awesome Games Done Quick returns today for an online version in 2021. If you are somehow unfamiliar, the popular charity marathon regularly features a packed schedule full of people speeding up various video games streamed live online, and has historically been been a personal event that people can attend. With the coronavirus pandemic still underway, things will be a little different this year.
The full event starts today and should continue as you read this. The first is one Mirror’s Edge run, and the day should end with Pikmin 2. The full schedule for the event is available online, and as usual there should be records of the runs going afterwards. As usual, you can watch the full event for yourself on the official Games Done Quick Twitch channel. Awesome Games Done Quick 2021 Online will end in the early hours of Sunday, January 10th after a The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time run.
Being a charity marathon, Awesome Games Done Quick 2021 Online supports the Prevent Cancer Foundation, an American nonprofit dedicated to cancer prevention and early detection. All donations to the event go directly to the foundation. Last year’s event raised more than $ 3.16 million for the nonprofit, and as always, the goal is to break that number this year.
As mentioned above, Awesome Games Done Quick 2021 Online is now underway and will end early on Sunday, January 10th. You can view all of our previous coverage of Games Done Quick, the organization that organizes these speedrunning events, here.
