As published Saturday, Jan. 2 in El Universal Deportes, the co-op’s leadership confirmed that through billboards posted in various parts of Mexico City titled “Fugitives from Justice Wanted,” the citizenship’s assistance to former directors of La Cruz Azul accused of looting the partners’ assets.
The main characters are:
• Guillermo “Billy” Álvarez Cuevas, former general manager of the cooperative and president of the Cruz Azul Soccer Club, who has two arrest warrants for “money laundering” and organized crime and for fraudulent governance.
He is wanted in 194 countries by the Attorney General and by Interpol, although it is possible that he has not yet left the country. The Financial Intelligence Unit, which is investigating other crimes committed by Álvarez Cuevas.

• Víctor Garcés, former legal director of the cooperative and vice president of the sports club, involved in the same crimes as “Billy” and others under investigation.
• Federico Sarabia Pozo, who has at least two arrest warrants, for the theft of more than 10,000 tons of cement from the Hidalgo and Oaxaca factories and for procedural fraud, when attempting to trick a judge by showing off as a member of the Board of Directors of the cooperative without being one, next to the “operator” of “Billy” Álvarez in seedy companies in La Cruz Azul.
The first spectacle was seen on Periférico Sur, to the north, near Plaza Santa Teresa, but more are expected to be placed at other points of the CDMX.
In addition to the photos of the justice fugitives, there is the legend “Information is appreciated for their capture, call 800-999-2958”.
