Amanda Kloots shared a vulnerable post about her attempts to stay ‘positive and active’ as she continues to mourn the death of her husband, Nick Cordero, who passed away in July.
Despite her best efforts to make it through the significant loss on her own, the 38-year-old co-host of CBS ‘The Talk opened her decision to seek professional help.
‘Old and new has been tough, extremely difficult for me. I’ve been crying more recently than in a while. I thought Christmas was going to be hard, this was worse, ” she revealed on her Instagram story.

She continued, “I think it’s because when the new year comes you want a clean slate or forget about last year, especially in 2020. But I can’t forget last year and won’t be able to wipe that slate clean.”
Understandably, the single mother, who welcomed her and Cordero’s nearly two-year-old son Elvis in 2019, said she was “ a little scared of what could happen in a year. ”
After going through the motions from the past six months, Kloots explained that everything she went through was “ finally catching up. ”

Traumatized: The single mother, who welcomed her and Cordero’s nearly two-year-old son Elvis in 2019, said she was ‘a little scared of what could happen in a year’ (pictured in 2016)
“ I’m finally ready to go to therapy to deal with the trauma, ” she said, after watching the late Broadway star for 94 days for COVID-19-related complications.
Kloots also noted that she reminded others that they are not alone in their grief and that being open about her ongoing heartbreak has helped her heal.
She added, ‘I share all of this as my continued honesty about grief and loss. How it ebbs and flows changes a lot. How it hides and then finds you. How it’s been a trip, not just a week. How it keeps struggling even when I stay positive and active. ‘

Nick was unconscious when he was first hospitalized, and he was initially misdiagnosed with pneumonia.
The Waitress Star later tested positive for the novel coronavirus on April 1.
From there, Nick’s struggles went from one complication to another as he was placed on a ventilator and developed blood clots, eventually leading to the amputation of his right leg.

Gone too soon: During his hard-fought fight, Nick was able to get off the ventilator and wake up from his coma, but the infection left his body and lungs so weak he could never fully come back
He also received a temporary pacemaker and went into a medically induced coma.
