Kinzinger: Republicans cannot object with a ‘clear conscience’ after hearing Trump tape

“This is absolutely awful,” tweeted Kinzinger, who has become one of the most outspoken Republican critics of President Trump’s attempts to reverse the 2020 election. “To any member of Congress who is considering objecting to the election results, you cannot do this with a clear conscience in light of this. #RestoreOurGOP ”

In the recording, obtained by the Washington Post, Trump asks Raffensperger to “find” more than 11,000 ballots to bridge the gap between himself and President-elect Biden in Peach State.

“I just want to find 11,780 votes, that’s one more than we have. Because we won the state,” Trump said in the recording.

The president has appointed Raffensperger and Gov. Brian KempBrian Kemp Trump calls Senate layoffs in Georgia ‘both illegal and invalid’ in New Year’s tweets (R) because he refused to cooperate in his efforts to reverse the state election results. Raffensperger can be heard again refusing to assist on the call.
