PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – One person was killed in a devastating overnight crash in Pembroke Park.
It happened along Hallandale Beach Boulevard between 40th and 48th Avenues.
Witnesses told Local 10 News that a car was heading east on Hallandale Beach Boulevard when it lost control and flew into the air and crashed into a shopping plaza.
Authorities said the driver of the car that lost control is a woman and she was thrown from her vehicle. She was pronounced dead on the spot by first responders.
At least six parked vehicles were damaged in the single car accident. One of those vehicles was pushed through the front doors of Thirsty’s bar.
Thirsty’s employees said off-camera that they were closed and were cleaning up when the crash occurred.
The Broward Sheriff’s office blocked much of the roadway Sunday morning.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
