President Trump complained on Sunday that the news media gives Dr. Anthony Fauci credit for the coronavirus response he deserves – stating that the country’s top infectious disease expert “works for me.”
“Something Dr. Fauci is revered by the LameStream Media as such a great professional, who they say has done such an incredible job, but he works for me and the Trump administration, and I’m not getting the credit in any way, ” it president wrote on Twitter.
“Gosh, could this just be more fake news?” he said of Fauci, a member of the White House coronavirus task force.
The president’s post came about an hour after Fauci appeared on ABC News’ “This Week” and the president’s earlier tweet disputed that the US coronavirus death toll is “exaggerated.”
“The number of cases and deaths of the China Virus has been much exaggerated in the United States because of @ CDCgov’s ridiculous determination method compared to other countries, many of whom are intentionally reporting very inaccurate and low. “When in doubt, call it Covid.” Fake news! said the president.
Fauci disputed Trump’s claim.
The dead are real dead. All you have to do is go into the trenches, go to the hospitals, see what the health workers are dealing with, ”Fauci said on ABC.
‘At the moment that is real. That’s not fake, that’s real, ”he said.
