Mick Foley tests positive for COVID-19

WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley tested positive for COVID-19.

Foley took to Twitter tonight and announced that he was coming up with the coronavirus after a recent virtual signing. He’s been in quarantine in a hotel room for 18 days.

“I tested positive for COVID after a virtual signing in December and spent the past 18 days in a hotel room. Keep taking this virus seriously – mask, social distance, watch out for each other. I wish you all a happy, healthy New Year.” Foley wrote.

Foley noted in his video that he participated in a virtual signing session on Saturday, December 18. He said there were two other people in the room with him, both wearing masks, but Foley took his way to help draw. One of the men in the room developed symptoms later that night and reported them to Foley. Foley added that he waited the 5 days before getting tested and has been at the hotel ever since.

Foley said his COVID-19 symptoms include body aches, loss of sense of smell, impaired hearing, and fatigue easily. He said one of the worst things is missing family vacations, including Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Years Eve, and New Years Day. Foley asked people to take the coronavirus very seriously. He admitted that he could have done better when it comes to following COVID-19 guidelines, especially after being so adamant about wearing their masks.

Foley also revealed that he drastically cut back on his job during the pandemic, as he has only worked 2 reality TV shows, 4 virtual signings, 2 in-person appearances and the WWE in the past 11 months. Survivor series pay-per-view for The Undertaker’s “Final Farewell” segment. He noted that he underwent 12 coronavirus tests in those 11 months.

Foley’s positive COVID-19 diagnosis is likely the reason why WWE didn’t announce him for the Legends Night edition of RAW on Monday.

This is the second time Foley has quarantined herself since the pandemic hit. We wrote in April of how Foley announced that he would be sending free videos to fans as a way to spread positive energy during the early days of the coronavirus pandemic. Foley then noted that he was in isolation and would not be able to reunite with his family for a few weeks due to concerns about COVID-19.
