The Coast Guard is ending the search for boats carrying 20 from the Bahamas to Florida

The US Coast Guard announced on Friday that it has suspended its search for a missing ship carrying about 20 people traveling from the Bahamas to South Florida.

The blue-and-white 29-foot Mako Cuddy Cabin ship departed Bimini, Bahamas, on Monday, but did not reach its destination in Lake Worth, Florida, the coast guard said in a statement.

Officials received information on the boat’s disappearance on Tuesday, prompting an extensive search by the Coast Guard, the Royal Bahamas Defense Force and the Bahamas Air Sea Rescue Association.

The 84-hour search covered approximately 17,000 square miles between the Bahamas and Florida, the agency said.

The Coast Guard has not identified any of the passengers.
