Elliott prioritizes playoffs over form

Ezekiel Elliott tested positive for Covid-19 over the summer, has the worst numbers of his career as the Dallas Cowboys sank to the bottom of the NFC East and missed a game for the first time due to injury.

The Dallas star running back has been in spirit all season, at least in virtual conference calls with reporters. Their second over 100 yard game of the season helped keep the Cowboys’ hopes of reaching the postseason for last week alive.

I told you? Maybe, but Elliott doesn’t really care that this wouldn’t have happened if Dallas hadn’t been in the worst division in the NFL, which will have a losing team in the playoffs.

“A win is a win no matter how you get there,” said Elliott. “So if we win the division 7-9, it’s the same as winning 14-2. You go into the playoffs with a 0-0 point.”

The winner of the game between the Cowboys (6-9) and the Giants (5-10) in Sunday’s early game could win the division if Washington (6-9) loses at home to Philadelphia in primetime. Washington is moving forward with a win.
