Trump asks the federal Supreme Court to review the case in Wisconsin

Madison, Wisconsin – President Donald Trump’s campaign on Tuesday asked the federal Supreme Court to admit that the lawsuit had failed against the Wisconsin election results.

Trump lost the state to Democrat Joe Biden by about 21,000 votes. The president’s campaign filed suit with the state Supreme Court to try to disqualify more than 221,000 ballots in Dane and Milwaukee counties, the two most democratically-leaning counties in the state.

Trump wanted to disqualify the pre- and personally submitted ballots in his absence, arguing that there was no adequate written request for the ballots, as well as ballots deposited by persons claiming to have “indefinite limited” status; ballots collected by polling stations in Madison parks; and absence ballots where election officials have filled in the missing information on the ballots.

The state’s Supreme Court dismissed the lawsuit by 4 votes to 3, ruling that Trump’s challenge against indefinitely incarcerated voters was unfounded and the other complaints were overdue.

The Trump campaign asks the U.S. Supreme Court to declare the Wisconsin election a failure and allow the Republican-controlled legislature to designate the state’s voters.

Trump and his allies have suffered dozens of defeats in lawsuits filed in Wisconsin and across the country based on baseless allegations of widespread electoral fraud and abuse. The president last week asked the federal Supreme Court to reverse three rulings of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court related to post-in ballots and allow the Pennsylvania General Assembly to choose its own electoral roll.
