Green Bay Packers recipient Davante Adams is officially the newest member of the “99 Club,” an exclusive all-virtual player group with an overall rating of 99 in the “Madden NFL” video game franchise.
Teammate Aaron Rodgers welcomed Adams to the club with the video above.
“It’s about time,” said Rodgers. “Finally get what you deserve, my man.”
“One-seven is officially in the 99 Club,” said Adams.
Adams joins Los Angeles defensive lineman Rams Aaron Donald, Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey, Arizona Cardinals receiver DeAndre Hopkins, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, New England Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce in the ” 99 Club. “
Adams started the season at 94th overall. It rose a total of five times with one point overall and last improved to 98 at week 13.
In just 13 games this season, Adams has 109 catches for 1,328 yards and an NFL-high 17 touchdowns. He caught three more touchdown passes against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
The honor included a “99” necklace.
‘I think that necklace is the same color as a jacket you might wear here in ten years or so. I hope you like that color because it suits you, ”Rodgers said, referring to Adams’ potential to become a Pro Football Hall of Famer.
Rodgers joined the “99 Club” during the 2018 season.
“I’ve put a lot of work into this, so I’m glad it’s paying off and I’m glad it’s being recognized,” said Adams.
The Packers currently have five players with an overall rating of 90 or better: Adams (99), left tackle David Bakhtiari (96), Rodgers (95), cornerback Jaire Alexander (93) and running back Aaron Jones (90).
