Deputy Sadoky Duarte: “I am unable to hit a woman”

Santo Domingo, RD.

Deputy Sadoky Duarte, accused of beating a member of the National Police, denied the facts and said he was unable to beat a woman.

Sánchez Ramírez’s legislature said that if he has to give up his deputy status, he will do so in order to take up his defense before the courts of the Republic.

“I guarantee that if they show me what they attribute to me, I will give that deputy button to the leadership of the PRM and step down as a deputy if they show me that I have committed the actions,” the legislator said during the session this afternoon.

Deputy Duarte said he never touched or had physical contact with the police station. “I didn’t put my hand on him, I didn’t,” the legislator said during the session.

The deputy said he has had a constant social battle as a student leader and now against the mining company Barrick Gold. “I’ve had a confrontation and that anything that hurts the police, who are always prosecuted, that’s their job. I have created animosity for my responsible attitude to the National Police, ”he said.

He said people in his community have taken to the streets. “I tell my people I don’t want them to disrupt the order, that they do something inappropriate,” he said.

He also referred to what Cotuí’s current prosecutor said, who pointed out that he was hiding and defending drug traffickers. “That’s a vulgar lie,” he said.

“I ask everyone, my country, I am willing to be investigated, that a committee will investigate the fact, but that I am guaranteed the presumption of innocence. Accusing someone without first listening to them is a violation of someone’s right, ”the legislator said.

The legislator said he did not take any action. “To judge me without finding the principles enshrined in Articles 68 and 69 of the Constitution, avoid the presumption of innocence and not listen to me to express an opinion,” he complained.

‘I can’t put my hand on a woman. I can’t go out, they see I haven’t done any action that I have to do let alone a woman. I’ve never had a criminalization tearing apart the Dominican Republic woman. I’m terrified they’ll judge me, ”he insisted.

Yesterday, the President of the Republic said in an energetic tone and with several knocking on the table that he will not allow any rank above the law in the Dominican Republic in his government.

Abinader was referring to a police officer’s complaint of aggression, accusing Perremeista Deputy Sadoky Duarte.

The president believes it will come true and what is appropriate is what the police corporal did, who takes the deputy to court “and he sees it right.” He said the party has not only been suspended but will also be expelled, as José Ignacio Paliza, president of the organization, announced yesterday.

“There is no rank that can be above the law in this administration, we are not going to allow it,” the president stressed this morning.
