Sadoki Duarte and his previous meeting with law enforcement officials

Sánchez Ramírez Province deputy Sadoky Duarte has come forward after physically assaulting a National Police officer during an operation.

However, 15 years ago, the legislature fought for his life after an incident involving members of the National Directorate of Drug Control (DNCD).

The event took place in February 2005, when Duarte was seriously injured when he was shot in the abdomen while in a park in Cotuí.

According to the accounts at the time, DNCD agents spent days looking for Duarte, who visited the deputy’s former homes.

Days later, in the middle of anti-drug surgery, the DNCD meets the deputy at the above place, where illegal substances and firearms were seized.

It was during this investigation that Duarte was shot, although according to the DNCD the legislator was the instigator and states that he fired the first shot that triggered the incident. But the person who was hit was not injured as the officer was wearing his body armor.

Drug trafficking

The very incident that Duarte is currently facing came about because, according to prosecutor Francis Valerio, the legislature tried protect someone with connections to that scourge.

This is someone known only as “Facobra,” who was described by Valerio as a licensed criminal, who has a warrant for the Gender Violence Unit and is under investigation by the Public Prosecution Service for drug sales and trafficking.

The prosecutor stated that prior to the attack, Duarte demanded that the officers present release the detainees while they prepared to seize the detainees’ car. In the act, the deputy wounded cop Disleidy Heredia Figueroa.
