A man, identified as Brigadier General José Manuel Frías Rodríguez, reprimanded two officers from the Directorate-General for Road Safety and Land Transport (Digesett) for not paying him an award when they inspected his vehicle.
In a video broadcast on social networks, Frías Rodríguez is shown demanding “respect” for the Digesett agents and putting himself in a position of “attention” because of the rank he says he had.

To the other officer, the general says, “He should pay attention and say respectfully sir, identify yourself, hey. If I identify myself, he should greet me as a general and then say, “Commander, you can’t stand there.”
Then the general demanded more discipline, uttering a series of obscene words, to which the officer replied “moderate,” which caused a greater change in the attitude of the man, who threatened to “report him.” ”.
The situation happened because Frías Rodríguez had parked his vehicle on part of the National District’s cycle path, an area where parking is prohibited.
The officer’s attitude was criticized on social networks, especially Twitter, where the word “Digesett”, “Amet” and “El General” was even a trend.
Some users were against Frías Rodríguez’s stance, as @correavpl tweeted: “You have to tell the general that he was not in a military compound, that he was not wearing a uniform, that these officers, regardless of their status as police officers or military, carried out civil work, that the laws are the same for everyone. His mistake was to identify himself ”.
Others, like @ hdez1000, were in favor of the officer’s claim of respect: those who think against the general, I respectfully tell them that the military salute is a mandatory ceremony in all institutions around the world.
