Two provinces in Southern China’s Qinghai Province witnessed something quite extraordinary and momentarily terrifying. A ‘fireball’ was seen flashing in the sky that looked as if it were falling into the ground. However, it later dissolves into the horizon.

Locals living in Nangqian and Yusu provinces reported the incident around 7 a.m. on December 23. The object was seen as it steadily descended to the ground, which stunned and frightened them. They had also heard a loud noise as the object passed through.

Social media was flooded with videos taken by the people in the village. A Turkish journalist named Mete Sohtaoglu also shared the video on his Twitter page.

A man named Ziyao Wang posted videos on his Facebook page. Each of them makes the object fly through the air from different angles. One of these is camera images of a parking lot in a residential area with a shadow passing through, thanks to the supposed ‘fiery’ object that crashed into the sky.

According to the Daily Mail, local Chinese media reported that the object was believed to be a bright meteor passing through the sky. Fortunately, because the village and the surrounding area did not touch, there were no casualties. The China Earthquake Networks later confirmed it was a ‘Bolide’, a very bright meteor. However, more details about what took place are awaited.

The stunning yet intriguing images showing what was happening were shared all over the internet. While everyone is waiting for the exact details.
