Captain Teddy Morales, director of the CIC of Humacao, this Saturday confirmed to Telenoticias the death of the Puerto Rican salsa singer Tito Rojas.

According to the information, the singer died this morning around 12.30 pm in the Tejas neighborhood of Humacao. Yesterday, Christmas Day, he shared an activity with his family in that same town. When he returned to his hometown, he began to feel ill and stopped with a relative.

He said he was unwell and asked to be taken to hospital. When switching vehicles to do the same, he collapsed at the entrance to the residence and died. When authorities arrived, they found the body without vital signs after a call to 9-1-1 to warn of the emergency.

Rojas López’s body was transferred to the Institute of Forensic Sciences in San Juan.

Later, singer Gilberto Santa Rosa, also a salsa artist, complained about the death of his partner in a message he wrote on the social network Twitter.

“I still don’t think so … My dear cock, we will miss you and remember you in every song”, read part of the message.

Julio Cesar Rojas López, the singer’s first name, was 65 years old and had a broad musical career. He is said to have performed his hits in various Latin American countries and the world.
