Bloodborne producer Teruyuki Toriyama leaves SIE Japan for new ventures

The last departure from SIE Studios

Teruyuki Toriyama has announced that he will be leaving Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan at the end of this year. Spoken on Twitter earlier today, Toriyama thanked fans for their support and noted that he plans to continue producing games in the future.

“I’m leaving SIE WWS JAPAN Studio at the end of December.” Toriyama announced. “To all the users who have supported JAPAN Studio so far, thank you very much! I accept the challenge of creating new game IPs in my new company, and ask for your continued support.”

Toriyama’s impressive resume spans producer duties on grim 2015 adventure Blood borne, and more recently Astro Bot and Demon’s Souls for PlayStation 5. Toriyama is one of the many producers to say goodbye to SIE Japan, which also recently saw its departure Gravity Rush designer Keiichiro Toyama, The last protector producer Kazunobu Sato and Siren series planner Junya Okura, who all left to found the new company Bokeh Game Studio.
