Cleveland Browns places LT Jedrick Wills on the reserve / COVID-19 list

The Cleveland Browns have offensive tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. placed on the reserve / COVID-19 list.

The No. 10 pick in this year’s draft, from Alabama, has started every game this season with a tackle on Cleveland.

Wills was listed after he was identified as having high-risk close contact with someone outside the organization. Wills would be eligible to get off the virus list if he tests negative for five consecutive days, possibly putting him on track to play against the New York Jets on Sunday.

“There is a possibility,” said coach Kevin Stefanski.

Wills’ absence in practice is at least the final blow to a suddenly attacked Browns line of attack. Starting right-wing guard Wyatt Teller missed Sunday’s game with an ankle injury and was expected to miss practice again on Thursday. Cleveland has also lost key backup lineman Chris Hubbard, who was placed on the injured reserve this week with a knee injury he sustained when he started on Sunday in place of Teller. Rookie center Nick Harris noticed Teller and Hubbard as a security guard.

A source told ESPN that Wills’ close contact issue had nothing to do with his Winter Blast event earlier this week.

The Browns also put receiver Ryan Switzer on the exhibition team / COVID-19 list.
